About ExpandED Equity

ExpandED Equity exists to ensure that all students are afforded the opportunity to learn, grown and thrive. Yet, inequities in the education system continue to stifle these opportunities for students. It is our belief that working collaboratively, across systems of education will help to dismantling education inequity.

To address these inequities, we must consider the historic patterns of allocating both financial and human resources in inequitable ways. Data on district funding across the country has confirmed that high-poverty schools receive less money than more affluent schools within the same district and across districts.

Race and racism underline much of the issues we face in education today and continue to be a predictor of outcomes.

Given these as examples of many, we must examine the current systems, practices and policies across all sectors to ensure equitable outcomes for the students and communities who need it most.
